Converters
The CDS BTR Converter can be utilised in conjunction with any software
packages, that uses software handshake. for those controls that do not have a serial interface built in. The unit is fitted
inside the control, and connected to the tape reader unit. The tape reader remains fully functional.
The BTR (Behind-Tape-Reader) Converter is used for establishing serial commnuications between a CNC control and a PC for controls which do not have tape readers but do not have built in serial ports. The unit is connected to the Tape Reader interface of the control, and converts serial data to a format that the tape reader interface understands. The Tape Reader is disconnected, but when re-connected operation of the Tape Reader is not affected.
The BTR Converter is required for a FlexTalk &trade / CNC-Talk installation on those controls which do not have built in serial ports. Note: While most controls can be fitted with this device, some, especially very old controls, will not work with it. For more information on compatibility, please email us at info@lrlabs.com.
